Marcus Monteiro heads the Firm’s wage/hour division. He represents workers in wage theft claims against their employers, including overtime claims and wage and hour law violations. Mr. Monteiro has prosecuted lawsuits against some of the world’s largest corporations, where employers have misclassified workers as “exempt” or an “independent contractor”; failed to pay minimum wage and overtime; or failed to properly allocate or otherwise pay earned tips.
Mr. Monteiro has represented employees in full-jury federal and state trials alleging wage and hour class violations. He has been appointed as class counsel in matters alleging violations of the New York Labor Law (“N.Y. Lab. Law”) and Federal Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) venued in the E.D.N.Y. and S.D.N.Y. Firm efforts have resulted in millions of dollars in monetary and nonmonetary benefits for our clients and have been featured in publications from Newsday, the N.Y. Post and Washington Times, to the Daily Mail (UK) and the Japan Times.
The Firm stands trial ready to prosecute all wage-thefts claims and recover remuneration improperly taken from our clients.
